Ronnie Brown

October 10, 2008 9:08 pm

I am heavy into the fantasy circles and what I am hearing a lot of is "Ronnie won't be able to post big numbers because they will be stacking 8 in the box" and so on. Well, let me tell you why Ronnie will put up great numbers the rest of the season. Reason #1: Chad Pennington. All I can say is "WOW!" Who would of thought that he would be posting such great numbers. At least compeltion percentage wise. I bet the teams that were thinking about signing him this pre-season are kicking themselves right now. Chad is doing what he has always done, not making mistakes, not turning it over and putting the ball into the playmakers hands. Noodle arm and all. Reason #2: Offensive line play. He's been sacked 8 times this year. Not great but not bad either. J.T. O'Sullivan and Ben Roethlisberger have been sacked 20 times each. Miami is 8th in the league in TOP. Which means that the offense is staying on the field longer that two thirds of the rest of the league. We all know how that benefits running backs late in games. And reason #3: Ricky Williams will keep him fresh taking some of the tougher short yardage runs. Fortunately for us fantasy players Ricky isn't vulturing Ronnie at the stripe. Ronnie has 6 rushing touchdowns so far this season putting him on pace for 24 this season. (6 in 4 games) The first two games combined he only had 18 carries and 1 touchdown. Short story long, I like Ronnie Brown's chances this year
